Important Information

• Teams will be finalized within five (5) days following tryouts. The make up tryout that is scheduled to be held on September 13th will fill remaining roster spots.

• A 50% non-refundable registration deposit is due upon accepting a roster position.

• Remaining balances are due by January 1, 2027.

• Payment plans are available.

• Team practices begin approximately 2–3 weeks before the first tournament.

• Practices will be held in Mequon and/or Saukville.

• Practice and tournament schedules will be finalized by February 15, 2027.

• Athletes not selected for a club team may be invited to participate in the CBA Prep Academy, our developmental program designed to prepare players for future club opportunities.

• 14U–17U Boys teams will not practice or compete during the month of June to allow athletes to fully participate with their high school basketball programs.

• Teams may add tournaments with approval from the coaching staff and participating families. Any additional tournament fees, coaching expenses, or related costs will be divided among participating athletes.

• Chapman Basketball Academy will provide fundraising and volunteer opportunities to offset player costs. Learn More Here!

• Regional and National Teams will have access to a BallerTV camera and account. Parents who volunteer to Video and keep track of Stats for the season will be give a credit of $100 towards their athletes player fee- This is a first come first serve basis. CBA follows a two-year uniform cycle. Returning athletes may use their current uniform if it remains part of the active uniform cycle. Our next year for new uniforms is 2028.

 

Multi-Sport Athletes

At Chapman Basketball Academy, we recognize that many of our athletes participate in multiple sports throughout the year. We strongly support multi-sport participation, especially at younger ages, as it helps reduce the risk of physical and emotional burnout, develops a wider range of athletic skills, and allows athletes to build relationships and gain new experiences.

Our goal is to help athletes grow while maintaining a healthy balance between sports, family, and school. We simply ask that families communicate schedules in advance so we can plan accordingly and best support both the individual athlete and the team.

Attendance & Communication Policy

Consistent attendance is essential to individual development and team success. We understand that conflicts may arise and ask that families communicate with coaches as early as possible.

• Notify your coach at least 48 hours in advance if your athlete will miss a practice whenever possible.

• Notify your coach at least one week in advance if your athlete will miss a tournament.

• Emergencies and illnesses are understandable; however, communication is expected as soon as reasonably possible.

• Repeated unexcused absences or failure to communicate may result in disciplinary action determined by the coaching staff and Chapman Basketball Academy.

 

Practice Policy

Practice is where athletes develop the skills, habits, and teamwork necessary for success.

• Players should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled practice time. Arriving 15 minutes early is considered on time.

• Athletes should be dressed and ready to begin practice at the scheduled start time.

• Consistent attendance is expected, as every practice builds on previous instruction.

• Players should bring water, basketball shoes, and any required equipment to every practice.

Being on time demonstrates commitment, accountability, and respect for teammates and coaches.

Player Expectations

As a member of Chapman Basketball Academy, every athlete is expected to represent the program with character and sportsmanship.

Players are expected to:

• Demonstrate respect toward teammates, coaches, officials, opponents, and spectators at all times.

• Use positive language and display good sportsmanship. Profanity, disrespectful behavior, fighting, or bullying will not be tolerated.

• Understand that participation in Chapman Basketball Academy is a privilege, not a right.

• Earn playing time through effort, attitude, attendance, coachability, and continuous improvement.

• Arrive 15 minutes before practices and games, ready to participate.

• Bring their complete uniform to every tournament, including:

  • Game Jersey

  • Game Shorts

  • Shooting Shirt

• Commit to Chapman Basketball Academy during the spring and summer club season. To promote team commitment, player and team development, CBA athletes are expected to prioritize CBA over any other Basketball Club.

• Represent Chapman Basketball Academy with pride both on and off the court.

Parent Expectations

Parents play an essential role in creating a positive experience for every athlete. Together, we can help build confident, respectful, and resilient young people.

We ask that all parents:

• Remember that this experience is about your child and their development.

• Encourage your child to communicate directly with their coach. Learning to advocate for themselves is an important life skill.

• If additional discussion is necessary after your child has spoken with the coach, please schedule a private meeting. Coaches should not be approached before, during, or immediately after practices or games.

• Support a positive practice environment by allowing coaches to coach. Parents are welcome to enter the gym during the final 15 minutes of practice for pickup.

• Encourage effort, improvement, teamwork, and character rather than focusing solely on wins and losses.

• Celebrate growth, learning, and sportsmanship.

• Communicate any absences or scheduling conflicts as early as possible.

• Treat officials, opponents, coaches, players, and spectators with respect at all times.

• Be positive role models by demonstrating good sportsmanship and representing Chapman Basketball Academy with class.

• ​We ask that parents wait at least 24 hours after a game before discussing concerns regarding playing time, coaching decisions, or game situations. This allows emotions to settle and helps ensure productive, respectful conversations focused on the athlete's development.
