CHAPMAN BASKETBALL ACADEMY ESTABLISHED 2017

In 2017, Joe Chapman retired from his professional basketball career in Europe and founded the Chapman Basketball Academy (CBA) out of a deep love for the game and a recognition of the vital role youth sports play in shaping young athletes into better individuals.

Growing up in one of the most impoverished areas of Chicago, Joe found a sense of home and structure through his participation in youth basketball teams. During his time at Marquette, he learned invaluable lessons in selflessness, leadership, competitiveness, and resilience. His experiences playing professionally overseas broadened his perspective and exposed him to diverse cultures. He faced adversity and learned to adapt to new environments. These important life lessons form the foundation of the Chapman Basketball Academy, guiding us in our mission to teach CBA athletes through the game we cherish.

Since its founding in 2017 with just five teams, Chapman Basketball has grown to become one of the largest organizations in the Midwest. Operating under four divisions, CBA now boasts over 100 teams and roughly 1,000 athletes.
